OUR HISTORY
In the early 1980's, Golden West Telcom of Wall South Dakota created Golden West Tele-Tech. The company began by providing paging and business phone systems throughout the Black Hills area and grew through a series of acquisitions beginning in 1985 with the purchase of ElectroCraft/The New Phone Company, a paging and MTS (mobile telephone service) provider. In 1986 we purchased "Rapid Answering Service", a 24X7 answering service. That trend would continue in February of 1989 when Golden West Tele-Tech merged with Telephone Interconnectors to become the areas largest firm specializing in the sale, installation, and maintenance of business phone systems.
Golden West Tele-Tech further expanded its technology portfolio a decade later with the purchase of Direct Technology, an enterprise-level network integration and consulting firm Golden West Tele-Tech changed its name to Golden West Technologies to reflect the ever expanding variety of technologies and services provided by the Company. In 2003, the company added video and audio conferencing solutions to its product, which included opening offices in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 2004, Golden West Technologies again took a step in expanding its solution offerings by acquiring Alpha Omega Monitoring and Technology, a firm specializing in business security solutions.
In May 2000, Golden West purchased RapidNet followed by the September 2004 acquisition of E-Net; both long established regional ISPs. This growth brought over 50 years of combined Internet experience providing a wealth of expertise and technical excellence in solving business problems beyond the enterprise on a truly national scale. This new capability led to the name change in 2004 to Golden West Technologies and Internet Solutions to better describe the company’s capabilities and strength.
In 2007, Golden West Technologies and Internet Solutions greatly expanded its regional presence by opening an office in Gillette, Wyoming. The acquisition of Global Security in Mitchell, South Dakota, greatly expanded Golden West's presence in Eastern South Dakota. In November of 2007, Golden West Technologies earned UL Certification and became the only UL listed company in the region to monitor security and fire alarms. |
